Although this article from The Atlantic is several years old, for some reason it still showed up in the feeds and searches I monitor for ecommerce news. Even though it’s not current, the information Bourree Lam shares on free-shipping trends in the marketplace still seem relevant today.
Shopping online can be such a crapshoot, to the point where — now that I’m a seasoned online shopper with 10 years of experience — I rarely buy from online stores that charge shipping for purchase or returns. But I should know better, as all economists (and shoppers) should know: There’s no such thing as free…shipping.
